Ben Jackson is the Founder and Principal of Hear Me Out, a Culture Strategy service that works with fast-growing companies to improve their culture and their workplace. Through 1:1 interviews, Ben and his team talk directly and confidently with the employees of the companies that hire them to understand workplace and culture challenges, and to identify potential solutions to improve company culture. But at the heart of their work is an ability to create spaces for employees to speak openly, directly and transparently, to help companies identify solutions to improve culture and performance. During our conversation, we spoke about some of the common challenges that Ben is hearing from employees about the state of work right now, and what might lie ahead, as well as where many companies go wrong, with trying to listen to employees, and build company culture. Ben also shared some practical tips, for how any employee or job seeker, can try to understand company culture prior to joining a company.
