MBASchooled: What did you do before business school, and why did you choose to get an MBA?
Prior to school I was working with Boston Consulting Group as a Senior Analyst focusing on procurement transformation projects for large conglomerates in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Europe. After four solid years, I decided to go back to business school to build my leadership muscle while exploring a different market and its underlying culture. This entire process has been transformational, and I am super excited for everything that lies ahead.
MBASchooled: What is the most important lesson that you’ve learned in your career so far?
One important lesson that I have learned in my career so far is to make a diligent effort to spend time with myself and reflect upon career aspects that truly matter to me. This consistent exercise is a highly rewarding experience. I get to know a lot about myself; allowing time to let it fully sink in that I am a leader in making!
MBASchooled: What is a career or personal development related podcast or book that you recommend for other MBA students?
In podcasts, Robinhood snacks, WSJ (Tech News), The Big Idea, and Decoder with Nilay Patel are my go-to ones. For personal development, a book that I often recommend is Barking Up the Wrong Tree: The Surprising Science Behind Why Everything You Know About Success Is (Mostly) Wrong. I came across this gem when I was applying to business schools. This book has not only helped me structure my thoughts but also questioned some loosely held wrong opinions about success measurement.
